Hello =)
For those seeking to modify this mod or add additional items or add compatibility, you are free to do so for non-profit within Space Engineers. Please read this document for details, it has information you need.

For anyone wondering why this mod appears to start on version 2, it’s because it started out as a personal addition to another mod. Now that SE has a food system by default, this mod can run independently and 100% script free.
Many features such as composting were lost but may return if SE progresses or another mod dose it well. But I will try to remain script free as I always have done.
Trade will be explored deeper later as I think Keen may take another look at that soon.
Other mods and compatibility for them will be added over time.

If you find a bug please let me know on steam.
I have tested this a lot but there were a lot of lines of code I had to update to balance seamlessly into vanilla.

1 and 2.
Currently the mod uses these classes.
FoodProcessorRations : Food cooking
FoodProcessorSeeds: Make Seeds
UnidentifiedDNASamples : DNA extraction
IdentifiedDNASamples : DNA cloning
WCooking : Drink cooking
PCooking : Poison cooking
They need to be added to any new food processor blocks, everything else is currently vanilla.
New food items also should be assigned the correct class.
It’s a good idea to follow the same naming convention for new seed and food items as this helps players and admins in game to find items.
Names starting with mid dot · indicates a basic food item that heals not much at all.
Names starting with a colon : indicates a more useful food item.
Names starting with a degrees symbol ° indicates a seed item.
Seed icons have 2 icons as well as the ° marker, look in the sbc. This is due to double icon AND symbol not having full access in newer SE interfaces. (we have both so that we always have one to fall back on.)
This naming is very important for players that still wish the ability to use a conveyor sorter without pain and as a visual aid in their inventories.
DNA always has the same name as it is unknown.
Lastly trade aims to give the player as little useful food as posable. We want them to advance food themselves and so we only have a few token items with low stock.

Farm Plot blocks.
Seeds need adding to the farm plot white list, because Keen like to make things more complicated they needs be. By doing things in yet another way for whatever reason lol!

In the event that an image may be from or edited from Space Engineers, then the game creator’s copyright rules apply over anything else.

The thumbnail / cover image from this mod should not be reused as this adds confusion for people looking for the right mod.

A few images are from stock or stock edits, many images are my own creation (those of 'my own creation' are copyright © 2025 all right received).
These may be used, or modified and used, in Space Engineers mods, provided the mod is freely and publicly available.
You may not use or modify them on a pay server, if the resulting mod/mods on the server, are not clearly available to everyone, for free.
These mods must not be hidden behind a login or chat program other than steam, and must not be provided in a way where the mod is non-functional.
Or to put it simply, they must be available to everyone to download on the steam workshop for free. Keep free content free.

Content creators uploading to Twitch or YouTube or similar, who are providing a pay server to create content that will be freely available on Twitch or YouTube or similar, but who are unable to provide links to working mods that use content from this mod, will be given an exception. In this case content created for Twitch or YouTube or similar must be made free within 2 months of first release. That means it can start out behind a paywall so long as it is released later.

The bottom line – Images are free to use within Space engineers, provided you keep them free and freely available. Content creators get a green flag providing they are eventually making free content. Keep free content free.

No permission is given for images to be used, edited, processed, analysed or involved with any form of AI or learning program.
